Knee Arthroscopy (Scope)
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that enables doctors to examine and surgically treat the knee joint without the need for a large incision. It is commonly used to diagnose and address various knee issues such as a meniscus tear. During the procedure, a small camera called an arthroscope is inserted into the knee joint, providing real-time images on a video monitor. This allows the surgeon to utilize tiny surgical instruments, leading to smaller incisions compared to traditional open surgery, resulting in reduced pain and stiffness, as well as a quicker recovery time for patients.
