Post-Operative Information
Recovering after surgery can be a smooth and manageable process when you have the right resources and set appropriate expectations. It's important to follow your healthcare provider's recommendations, utilize support systems, and give yourself the necessary time to heal.

Appointment Expectations
Approximately 2 weeks after surgery, you will return to the clinic for a visit to take off bandages, assess the incision and range of motion, and possibly take x-rays. After this point, you will return to clinic again in 4 weeks, 6 weeks total from surgery, for a similar visit. These appointments are great opportunities to bring up any questions or concerns that have arisen during recovery, so we recommend you bring a list.

Bandage Care
Your surgical incision will have a waterproof adhesive mesh on top, as well as a waterproof sticky bandage on top of that. Please keep this dressing clean and intact, only to be removed by Dr. Abblitt's office or home health. Additionally, we ask you keep this bandage covered and dry in the shower.

Post-Op Protocols
Each surgeon has their own post-operative protocols unique to their practice. Found below, you can find information on post-op medications, expectations after surgery, FAQs, bandage care, and guidance on when to call the office.
